Lava Orange 2005 Mazdaspeed MX-5 Miata GT

At the end of the production of the second generation (NB) Miata, Mazda offered a turbocharged version with improved driveline, suspension, and other upgrades. It was called the Mazdaspeed MX-5 but is commonly referred to as the Mazdaspeed Miata.

Mazda built 4000 Mazdaspeed Miatas for model year 2004, and another 1428 for model year 2005.

Mine was built on Wednesday, August 18, 2004, the 117th 2005 Mazdaspeed Miata. It's a GT model as all Lava Orange cars were.

Only 394 Lava Orange cars were produced, making it the rarest color MSM.

A matching factory hardtop with headliner and defroster is included.

What's different between 2004 and 2005 Mazdaspeed Miatas?

Different wheels were used. 2005 wheels have wider spokes.
In 2004, only red and gray were available. In 2005, black and orange were added and interior colors were changed.
In 2005, boost pressure was increased slightly, and a switchblade style key was incorporated.

GT models have leather seats with red stitching (except for Lava Orange cars, which have silver stitching). Regular models have cloth seats.

GT models have a cloth convertible top, while regular models have a vinyl top.
